Mini Blinds: If your mini blinds are very dirty-it is a good idea to take them down and place them in a tub with soapy water-wipe them and then rinse and dry. To keep your mini blinds clean-wipe them down with a damp fabric softener sheet. This eliminates the static that causes dust to stick. Using a damp fabric softener sheet also works well for TV and monitor screens (always read manufactures instructions before using this on your TV or monitor)
Removing Candle Wax from Wood, Carpets, or upholstery: To remove wax from wood, carpets or upholstery you will need a brown paper bag and a steam iron (grocery bags work the best – make sure you use the part of the bag with no writing on it.)
- Cut open the brown paper bag and lay it flat.
- Lay the bag on the affected area.
- Set the steam iron on a medium setting. Allow it to warm up.
- Place the steam iron on the top of the bag over the wax spot. Move the iron back and forth over the wax. The iron should never come in direct contact with the general flooring or upholstery. As the wax warms up it will begin to absorb into the bag.
- When a dark spot appears on the bag, move to a dry spot and continue to move the steam iron over the area.
- When no further wax absorbs into the bag, you should have successfully removed all the wax.
