Organizing  Tips

Label Everything
Staying organized is very difficult, this task is so much easier when things are labeled.  Label where things go on shelves, and in cabinets and drawers.  You should also label storage containers, folders, computer disks, videos/CDs, spice racks and much more.  You may want to consider buying a battery-powered electronic label maker.   This makes the job much easier.

Organizing Photos
Start by organizing your most current photos and decide to stay current from this point forward.  Worry about the past photos later, when you have more time.  Start with one particular even, time frame, or family member.  Find all related photos and organize them.  Choose the  method of storage that works for you, such as:  photo boxes, albums, memory scrapbooks, or scanning into your computer.

Linen Closets
Us wicker baskets to sort sheets, pillow cases,  towels, wash cloths, hand towels, and any other items you may have in your closet.

Cleaning Supplies
Place frequently used cleaning supplies in a Mobil mini tote.  Add wheels to the bottom of a crate, put your tote in the crate, and you now have a rolling chore cart.

Storing small items
You can use old jars to store items such as nails, screws, tea bags etc.  To make these jars decorative, you can screw the lid of the jar to the bottom of your overhead cupboard, put item into the jar and then screw jar to the lid.
Take old wicker picnic baskets-hat boxes-general wicker baskets, place your odds and ends into the basket then place baskets decoratively on your shelves.
Take metal wall vases, put on the wall and store items such as pencils, pens, paint brushes, etc.
Store panty hose in a hanging shoe bag with clear plastic pouches.  You can organize  by color, type, etc.  This also works well for socks.
Storing Children’s Clothes
Store children’s seasonal clothing and shoes in stackable storage containers or boxes.  Label these boxes with season, sex and size rather  than the child’s name.  That way you will know exactly what is in the box without having to open it.
